In January, Leonard Berstein Distinguished Professor of Music Bright Sheng was named the first-ever Composer in Residence with the New York City Ballet. William Bolcom cleaned up at the Grammy Awards. Young female tuba phenom Carol Jantsch sent many running home with their tails between their legs when she won the principal tuba position with the Philadelphia Orchestra. And now this?!
